What Non-Discrimination Means in Home Care
The Section 1557 rule protects you at every touchpoint we control:
- Intake and consultation. Every family that calls gets the same care assessment protocol, the same explanation of options, and the same pricing structure regardless of any protected characteristic.
- Caregiver matching. We match on skill, language, personality fit, and clinical need — never to segregate. Cultural or language matching that a family requests for comfort is honored; refusal of a caregiver based on a protected characteristic without a legitimate care reason is not accepted.
- Billing and payment. Rates do not vary by protected characteristic. Payment plans and long-term care insurance coordination are offered on the same terms to every client.
- Complaint handling. Every civil-rights concern is investigated with the same rigor and reported to Sofia within one business day of receipt.
- Employment and caregiver assignment. The caregivers we place are Certified Home Health Aides selected on qualification and match — not excluded from any assignment based on a protected characteristic.
