Frequently Asked Questions About Home Care in NJ

Choosing home care for a loved one comes with many questions. Here are the answers NJ families ask most often about our services, caregivers, costs, and process.

About Our Services

What areas do you serve?

We provide in-home care across 11 New Jersey counties, with primary coverage in Union, Essex, Middlesex, Somerset, and Morris Counties. We also serve Bergen, Passaic, Hunterdon, Ocean, Monmouth, and Mercer Counties.

What services do you offer?

We offer non-medical home care services including: 24-hour care, live-in care, companion care, personal care, overnight care, respite care, dementia and Alzheimer’s care, and post-surgery recovery care. All care is supervised by a Registered Nurse.

What’s the difference between live-in care and 24-hour care?

Live-in care means one dedicated caregiver stays in the home and is available throughout the day and night, with a sleep period. 24-hour care uses rotating shifts (typically 2–3 caregivers) so someone is always actively awake and on duty. Learn more about the differences →

Do you provide medical care or skilled nursing?

We are a non-medical home care agency. Our caregivers provide personal care, companionship, and daily living assistance. We do have an RN who supervises all care plans, conducts assessments, and provides clinical oversight — but we do not provide skilled nursing services like wound care or IV therapy.

Caregivers & Quality

Are your caregivers certified?

Yes. Our CHHAs (Certified Home Health Aides) hold valid New Jersey certifications. All caregivers are thoroughly background-checked, insured, and bonded. Personal care cases are staffed exclusively with certified CHHAs.

How do you match caregivers to clients?

Our care coordinators assess each client’s personality, care needs, schedule, and preferences. We prioritize caregiver-client compatibility and aim for consistent assignments — the same caregiver shows up each time, building trust and familiarity.

Is a nurse involved in my loved one’s care?

Yes. A Registered Nurse (RN) conducts the initial assessment, develops the care plan, supervises caregivers in the field, and adjusts care as needs change. This clinical oversight is included at no extra cost.

Cost & Insurance

How much does home care cost?

Costs depend on the type and hours of care needed. We provide transparent pricing during your free consultation. Our rates are competitive for the NJ market, and we work with families to create a care plan that fits their budget.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept private pay and long-term care insurance, including policies from John Hancock, Genworth, and other major LTC carriers. We can help you file claims. We do not accept Medicaid.

Can you help with long-term care insurance claims?

Yes. We work with families to understand their policy benefits and assist with the claims process. Many families are surprised to learn their LTC policy covers in-home care. Learn more about insurance and payment →
